My grandad used to swallow an entire strip of gelucil after every meal. He had enough ulcers to power a small ship.
He would have loved this:
Two Australian researchers, Barry J. Marshall and J. Robin Warren, won the 2005 Nobel Prize for Medicine for discovering a bacterium that causes gastritis and stomach ulcers.

Though I must say I prefer the Ig Nobel awards ... if you don't know what I'm talking about head here .. and no these aren't a parody of the Nobels ... and they don't celebrate moronic ability ... the last two sentence were for those too lazy, or too addicted to this site to click on the link.

I have to pass on the news to my Dad. He will be relieved to know that something's being done to relieve him of his gastric woes.
Gawd, this whole gelusil fixation, is this a Bong thing? My Ma religiously pops a gelusil after every meal.
But you know what, my mother made me carry lots of Digene with me to the US. And one day my friend who lived next door was having a tummy ache. I offered the Digene and she's been hooked ever since. She even makes her Indian boyfriend promise to bring back some every time he visits home.
It's got to be a Bong thing with 50% of their disposable income spent in gratifying their digestive enzymes.
The bong thing is the perpetual state of 'ombol'.
