Huh...

In news not related to the Times Group and associated movements or non-movements, it appears the editor of a prominent, or formerly prominent publication (and who was formerly a China stringer) is having a torrid affair with the (recently married) boss of a large PR firm which primarily takes care of business for one large conglomerate. This is a brilliant example of extremely bad taste on both sides.
Edit: I would like to state that I have never really cared who is banging whom in what position and up which opening. To each their own, but when there is a clear and defined conflict of interest, as is evident in such a case, I think I should write about them. As I have said, what has been written may also be untrue, since people could have better taste than drinking 'Vino' all the time. Anyway...
In news related to HT, I met one of the organisations better writers at 'the' book launch last night and I asked him why he hadn't left as yet.
His response, "Most offers have been quite poor, but trust me I will not be the last rat to leave the ship."
"So it is sinking then?"
"Sinking? The crows nest is underwater... Plan B might need to be put into play soon."
"And what the fuck is 'Plan B'?"
"I need another beer."
Hmmm. It was a nice book launch though, there was some bad music and some good music. And lots of beer. Though why we still drink VJM's beer when Carlsberg is freely available is beyond me.
Note: I am not having an affair with a PR chick/girl/lady. Just thought I would make that clear. Actually, as of now, not having an affair of any sort at all. Damn!

I think its in rather bad taste to bring out who's sleeping with whom. That's the kind of bitching one would normally expect from people with little else to do. Neither of the persons in question is a kid, I expect, and I don't think there is any need to cast an aspersion till it is evident that private life is affecting professional conduct.

Got me wondering..do women in media ever get pregnant?...the situation for women in competition looks far worse in media than in the entertainment industry...imagine what would happen to tv18 if Shireen gets pregnant?

K: this is a nice blog. just the right amount of movement-related gossip and flagging issues. why take it in the direction of warfornews and that other one (not mediaah) which was personally attacking one FE editor? if an editor is having an affair and there is conflict of interest, you can flag the issue without so obviously identifying them. what purpose is being served?

To anonymous #4 who commented at 2.59pm I would say that "it is evident that private life is affecting professional conduct". I would ask you to evaluate the number of stories done on the XAXA Group (X = a consonant that may or may not be the 20th letter of the alphabet) post JP's joining as against the count before. Even to a lay reader (pointed out by a friend) the extent of coverage on this group looked suspicious...also the coverage took potshots at airtel and sunil mittal (not that i have anything to do with the bharti group)...clearly multiple agendas were driving the tilt in coverage. at least one of them seems to have been revealed

i totally agree. avoiding 'below the belt' gossip/news wd make the blog more credible.

K: you should care two hoots about what people think and write whatever you want to write, as long as they are not too indecent. It's important to discuss why a once-highest-selling magazine is going down the drain!!

Hey K,

The big boss at the formerly prominent mag has woken up... JP's advise to follow China model for Union Budget to PC has not been taken lightly. Sarkar Raaj is likely to be back soon. JP is headed towards a leading PR firms soon to be launched Research division.
