Hoo Boy!

I don't quite believe everybody has realised just how much shit has been thrown up by The V's unprecedented attack on Mint. But there was, as the Israeli's would say 'unintended casualties', one of them being Campaign India which was brushed of as 'never heard of'. Maybe that is because Mint also has a little thing called 'Campaign' (or had) but Campaign (the real one) is one of the leading advertising publications in the world, and though I am not a regular reader my friends in advertising tell me that the Indian edition (much like most 'Indian' editions) is not a patch on the British one. Anant Rangaswami of Campaign India takes serious objection to The V's article and well, calls The V a liar for saying 'never heard of'. This is getting to be so much fun!

I have been watching Vir Sanghvi's career for a decade. What you say is absolutely right. Anything he does makes news because people are just fascinated by him.
He never forgets or forgives as you said. But he takes his time about it!

Poor Anant, having to stand up for his magazine with so many dangerous references to other media comoanies in these tough times. Let's face it, while Vir was petulant about Campaign India, Anant, thanks to his earlier stint at Star with Peter, gave too much credit to his ex boss for pulling off the INX and NewsX heists. Just saw some old issues I had, Campaign India got ads from those companies right from launch itself, when they had no other ads. Tells a story, doesn't it?

At the end of the day, if the Evening Standard (England) can be sold for a pound (60-70 rupees) to an ex-KGB agent who was also once posted in England, then what price will who have to pay for newspapers in India?
